I’ve been busy getting Trouble ready for the next season. I only have a few weeks left to get everything done. The packages have been coming in faster than the jobs are getting completed. Before I went back to Minnesota, the sails were taken down and shipped out the Quantum Sailing in Annapolis. I’ve completed lots of little electrical and instrument upgrades and interfacing so the boat’s systems talk to each other better.
The new heads (Toilets) came in and I had help from Pete who I’d had met sailing this season. It turned into a much bigger and messy job as most boat projects turn into. We spent 2 days installing and totally rebuilding the guest side head. The Owner’s side head is next. Hopefully, Pete can come back for a couple of days to help me finish that up.
My list of stuff does not seem to be getting smaller. The yard here should start on a few projects I’m having them do shortly.
Hopefully this weekend I’ll get the bottom painting done. I finished up the sanding last weekend, it was a messy job. The yard here requires you to use their special vacuum sander, to keep the dust to a minimum. The vacuum did not seem to do much. I took a lunch break at noon and the first thing I did was go take a shower. I even had a good amount of personal protection on.
Tools end up everywhere when working on the boat. I spend an hour at night trying to get everything put away so it’s not a total mess for the evening.
