Low Voltage Alarm

01/18 s/v Trouble Update: It has been overcast and blustery weather for a few days here in Spanish Wells. I was awoke this morning with another low voltage alarm. I’m learning the limits of the electrical power on the boat. Everything is fine until I have multiple days in a row without sun. I did head into town multiple times this week. Spanish Wells has a completely different feel than Great Harbour Cay. Not as friendly and mostly retired British folk or families from when the British ruled here. It did have a great grocery store. I also found the local bakery and got some fresh banana bread. I had a fellow cruiser stop by and give me a giant filet of Black Snapper he just caught. I should be able to get three meals out of it. Tonight is fish tacos with a slice of it. I running low on my original provisioning, so now I’m having to use whatever the locals use. Prices are about twice what you would find in the US. Tomorrow I move the boat again. I’ll head down south along the west side of Eleuthera. I have a notorious pass to go through tomorrow morning called Current Cut.

The notorious Current Cut.

It will be interesting, as I have to do it at exactly slack tide. I hope my tide charts are current. I’ll then go and anchor at a place called the Glass Window Bridge. Bahamas.com says “It is one of the few places on earth where you can compare the rich blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean on one side of the road and the calm Bight of Eleuthera (often incorrectly called the Caribbean Sea) on the other side, separated by a strip of rock just 30 feet wide.”
