Old Bight, Cat Island, BS — 03•18•23
After a light air sail, we dropped anchor in Old Bight Cat Island. A couple of days later, we moved up to New Bight Cat Island, where there were a few more things to do. Still Travelling with EOS and Mer Du Jour, we did the usual hike up to The Hermitage, and Pete from EOS had us challenge the locals to Dominos. We didn’t fare well.
Kidd Cove, George Town, Great Exuma, BS — 03•23•23
After an escorted sail from Cat Island, I dropped anchor in Kidd Cove. I had an itching to get back to the Raggeds. I did some provisioning and waited for a weather window before heading south. I’d be leaving my friends, EOS and Mer Du Jour.
Water Cay, Jumentos, BS — 03•27•23
After an uneventful passage through Hog Cay Cut (too many hog cays in the Bahamas), I dropped anchor in the South Bay at Water Cay. The next day, I did some pole spear fishing. This has become my lucky spot to fish.
Buena Vista, Jumentos, BS — 03•29•23
Making my way down to Hog Cay (a different hog cay from the cut), I made an overnight stop at Buena Vista. The following day, I weighed the anchor to continue my journey.
Hog Cay, Raggeds, BS — 03•30•23
As I pulled into my usual spot, my anchor windless crapped out. This is the device that drops and pulls up my anchor. While I can still use it manually, it isn’t practical. So, for the next two weeks, I was doing in field service and trying to fix the windless. It was not all work those two weeks, as I was able to hang out with a couple of other cruiser friends. The windless got fixed enough to get me through the season.
