05/09 s/v Looking for s/v Trouble Update: Trouble is back in the USA. I took my time working my way of the Bahamas.
I tried to find some new anchorages and also used ones I was familiar with while heading north. I had to dodge a few cold fronts and rainstorms. I did ding up Trouble while trying to dock in a crosswind in a slip that was too small for me. I had to do a quick fiberglass patch job, just to last me till I haul her out and do a proper repair. The Gulf Stream crossing to Palm Beach went smoothly. I did had a shackle blow up on me just as I was across the Gulf Stream. Luckily no damage and I just replaced the shackle and finished my crossing. I hung out in Lake Worth (Palm Beach) and got my Covid Vaccine and did some provisioning and the nicest Publix in the world. I just moved the boat today to Fort Pierce and should get to St Augustine by Thursday. It’s good to be back in the US, but it’s also so much more crowded here. I expect to be hauled out in early June still.
